Summary

You will serve as a Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader,in the Production Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

  • You will apply knowledge and skill in the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration.
  • You will diagnose, locate and repair malfunctions to the main operating mechanical components of large, complex heating, ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC).
  • You will disassemble and repair repairing a variety of components including compressors, evaporators, condensers, cooling coils, air handlers, bearings, water control valves, air dampers, etc.
  • You will lubricate moving parts and replaces air filters, v belts, electrical motors, pulleys, sheaves, bearings, fan shafts, etc.

  • You may at any time be reassigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area.
  • You may be assigned to perform tasks in non-trade related fields as an assistant/helper as workload requires.
  • You may be required to serve as an on-call duty mechanic on a rotational basis, required to carry a duty cell phone and/or pager and must main available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours.
