Duties
As a AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), GS-2152-12, you will provide oversight of military flying units, alert site detachments and government aviation resources operating in support of NORAD and NORTHCOM missions. Recommends airspace allocation and utilization, the design and formulation of special use airspace, low altitude routes, and air defense operations. Analyzes requirements and identifies and resolves problems of conflicts between operational requirements and capabilities of the National Airspace System (NAS). Provides technical advice and staff assistance on FAA and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) policies and procedures relating to airspace use and Air Traffic Control matters. Assists in the development of local operating agreements.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Exceptive Service "under the authority of Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)" and is open to on board (Tenure 1, 2 and 3) federal employees/technicians (T32 and T5) within the agency (Florida National Guard). Tenure can be in block 24 on your latest SF 50.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

NOTE:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience in a military or civilian air traffic facility that demonstrated possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the full management level of work of the specialization for which application is made; experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of providing information to pilots on such matters as weather, air routes, navigational aids, and airport conditions before and during flight; issuing control instructions and advice to pilots in the vicinity of airports to assure proper separation of aircraft and to expedite their safe and efficient movement; controlling aircraft operating enroute along the airways to assure proper separation and safe and expeditious movement of such aircraft.
