Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULICS SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0802000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.

Duties

The purpose of this position is to supervise workers on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis, either directly or through on or more subordinate leaders, in accomplishing the work operations of the organizational segment or work shift and to perform associated nonsupervisory work.

Planning: Plans and schedules specific work assignments on a daily or project-by-project basis within specified time requirements. Arranges for adequate personnel, materials and equipment to accomplish the work.

Work Direction: Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains prescribed methods and procedures; instructs subordinates on new procedures and provides assistance on problems.

Administration: Recommends individuals to fill vacancies or for promotion or reassignment. Assists in the establishment of performance standards and makes recommendations for performance appraisals.

Performs the nonsupervisory functions of the organizational segment supervised.

Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.

Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer.
  • Must hold the grade of E-7.
  • Submit all required documentation.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • Eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that’s a 3 or higher.
  • Relocation Incentive is available for only current federal employees. Will need a current appraisal in good standing.
  • Recruitment Incentive is for employees newly appointed to a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days.
  • Must hold a 2AXXX or 2WXXX AFSC.

Qualifications

Military Grade: E-7

Compatible Military Assignment: 2AXXX or 2WXXX AFSC

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles.
2. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines.
3. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts.
5. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies.
6. Experience in repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
7. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment.
8. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
9. Experience demonstrating the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments of lower graded personnel.
10. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
11. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.

Relocation and Recruitment Incentives
Eligibility:
  • Recruitment-Employee newly appointedto a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days.
  • Relocation-Current employee who relocates to accept a position in a new geographic area. If you are eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that's a 3 or higher.
Payments:Up to 25% of the annual rate of basic pay as of the beginning of the service period (includes locality pay/special rate supplement) multiplied by number of years (and fractions) covered by the service agreement. Subject to availability of funds and must be approved by TAG.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
