Duties
As an Airfield Operations Specialist, GS-2150-09, you will process flight plans, conducting necessary research and/or queries in the coordination of scheduled flights. Assist the Airfield Operations Officer in the research and evaluation of airfield data, specific to airfield facilities, construction plans for the airfield, and changes/modifications- to airfield construction projects and/or priority adjustments. Participate in the scheduling of airfield activities with tenant and transient unit commands, requiring use of the airfield. Perform daily airfield inspections/checks for conditions, physical security, and force protection to ensure a safe airfield environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

AOC B: NG employees in the State Army Aviation Directorate (This includes State Army Aviation Office, Army Aviation Support Facility 2, and Eastern Army Aviation Training Site)
AOC C: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard
TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status.
INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice.
*NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Tier 1 Security Clearance.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training providing a good understanding of administrative methods for accomplishing the work of an organization. Experience working with Federal, State and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles. Experience in maintenance of inventories and cost computations.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate at least24 months experience in interpreting regulations/requirements and developing local policies to implement changes effectively. Experience applying applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Experience preparing reports and recommendations involving appeals, special permits, adjustments in rates and charges. Experience which involved negotiations with carriers on individual shipments or traffic movement.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
