Job Description (Please follow all instructions carefully)

Summary

About the Position: Serves as the Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) for Garrison Antiterrorism (AT) program in support of the Force Protection (FP) mission. Works under the Chief of Plans & Operations Division in the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS).

Duties

  • Directs the development, implementation, and operation of an integrated AT program and Guides crisis management planning and execution in the event of a terrorist attack.
  • Provides planning advice to the Garrison Commander and Commanding General on new policies, resolution of complex vulnerabilities, crisis management, and possible threats to the garrisons.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the command AT program at the garrison, and plans, formulates, and coordinates all matters pertaining to the protection and security of personnel, property and material against terrorist threats.
  • Conducts comprehensive review and analysis of the garrison's AT plan, assessments, and survey reports for compliance with existing policies, procedures and supporting documents.
  • Advises Chief of Plans and Programs Division and DPTMS of AT and FP deficiencies that would affect the FP posture of the garrison.
  • Recommends revision of local policy as a result of trends discovered in the review and analysis process.

  • In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position may require On-call and Shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Must be able to obtain Antiterrorism (AT) Basic, and AT Advance Course within 12 months of appointment and maintain training certification.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
