MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
A bachelor of Laws OR Juris Doctor degree in law (LLB or J.D) issued by an American Bar Association accredited law school
-AND-
Be a current member of a bar with a valid license to practice law in the highest court of any U.S. state, commonwealth, territory or the District of Columbia
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 24 months experience as a professional Attorney-Advisor. Knowledgeable of the National Guard mission requirements. Ability to recognize and identify complex constitutional, state-federal, and/or military-civilian jurisdictional issues and articulate them in the appropriate forum or context. Experience conducting legal research in connection with cases pending administrative hearings, trials, or appellate courts. Experience researching and providing legal advice in functional areas such as Administrative, Labor, Litigation, Domestic Operations Law, Ethics, or equal employment and affirmative action programs. Experience conducting legal research, investigation and negotiation, and provided legal advice, opinions, recommendations and legal memoranda. Experience influencing managers or other staff officials to accept and implement findings or recommendations. Experience planning and scheduling work to create effective and efficient procedures. Experience mentoring, training, and guiding employees on legal programs and legal procedures through assigned tasks. Experience balancing office case work-loads and providing advice and direction.
