JOB TITLE:         Audiovisual Production Specialist    
BUSINESS TITLE:    Audio/Visual Production Specialist

Located within the MCCS Marketing Branch in Okinawa, this position offers an opportunity to create impactful visual content for our military community. As part of our digital marketing team, the Audio/Visual Production Specialist will plan, shoot, and edit engaging video content in a variety of locations and lighting conditions for social media platforms. We¿re seeking a forward-thinking creative who embraces emerging AI-driven solutions and actively seeks out media trends that position MCCS at the forefront of digital communication. This role combines creative production with a mission-driven purpose to enhance community engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, captures, and edits photography and video content for use across a variety of platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. 
  • Documents both scheduled and spontaneous content at MCCS events and activities with emphasis on timely delivery for social media channels. 
  • Produces focused, informative videos for program promotion, internal training, and various marketing initiatives. 
  • Edits content primarily using Adobe Premiere Pro while demonstrating familiarity with alternative platforms such as Canva and awareness of emerging AI-enhanced editing solutions like Descript that are transforming traditional audio/video production workflows. 
  • Records and edits audio content including radio announcements and voiceovers projects. 
  • Works collaboratively with other team members such as social media specialists, graphic designers, and leadership to implement content strategy and support marketing campaigns. 
  • Maintains and properly stores all camera/audio equipment while organizing digital assets in a structured, searchable archive. 
  • Contributes ideas and feedback during planning sessions to improve content effectiveness. 
  • Ensures all content adheres to MCCS brand standards and maintains appropriate quality and professionalism. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Two (2) years of experience in video production, photography, and digital content creation. Equivalent experience demonstrated through a content portfolio may be considered. 
  2. A professional portfolio website or shareable link showcasing original video and photographic work. Social media profiles (e.g., YouTube channels or Instagram galleries) may be accepted if professionally presented. 
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of basic lighting and composition principles. 
  4. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and basic photo/video production. 
  5. Experience with content creation tools such as Canva and/or efficiency-enhancing editing platforms (e.g., Descript or similar) is beneficial and shows forward thinking.
  6. Demonstrated ability to create effective short-form video (30-60 seconds) designed for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. 
  7. Must have a valid driver's license to travel across Okinawa and work nights and weekends based on assignments.

  • Applicants hired into flexible positions (0-40 hours per week) or regular position with a time-limited appointment will not lose their spouse preference eligibility until movement or hired into a regular full or part time position.  
  • The time period for MSP eligibility begins 30 days before the military sponsor's reporting date to the new duty station, if accompanied, or at any time thereafter during the tour.
