There is is a Basic Requirement to hold a GS-0510 series position in the Federal Service. See the "Education" section of this announcement for details.
To qualify for the GS-09 Level, in addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying established accounting theories, concepts, principles, and standards to perform the following: 1) Maintain and manage accounting records 2) Analyze and/or prepare financial statements 3) Review accounting data for accuracy to insure the integrity of the accounting system 4) Monitor financial transactions to identify errors or trends.

To qualify for the GS-07 Level, in addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying established accounting theories, concepts, principles, and standards to perform the following:1) Assist with maintaining accounting records 2) Assist senior accountants involved in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements 3) Assist senior accountants with reviewing accounting data for accuracy to insure the integrity of the accounting system and notifying senior personnel when discrepancies are discovered.
