Summary

About the Position: The incumbent of this position is responsible for coordinating and performing a variety of technical and administrative work in budget, accounting, and supply areas that are essential to the accomplishment of work within the Nutrition Care Division of Womack Army Medical Center.

Duties

  • Operate financial management information systems to support budgetary requirements for food service operations.
  • Provide data to operating officials regarding the status of funds and changes in funding procedures.
  • Use accounting methodologies to analysis and validate transactions in an accounting system for resolution of deficiencies.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurately maintained for effective control of food cost and budget management.
  • Identify monthly, quarterly trends, analyzing discrepancies in projections and reconciling annual trends.

  • This is a Financial Management Level One Certified position. I have or I am willing to obtain and maintain for the duration of my employment a Financial Management Level One Certification prior to employment.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • National agency check with inquires is required (NACI).
  • Level 1 certification in Financial Managment is required. Incumbent is required to comply Department of DoD and DA requirements. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Certification Level 1: THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes verifying costs of budget items; preparing monthly, quarterly and financial status reports; posting subsidiary ledgers of expenditure/journal to maintain a self-balancing set of accounts; comparing current/planned expenditures to determine over/under obligation of funds; analyzing computer-generated reports to ensure validity of cost breakout; and/or ensuring funds are available and that accounting data is correct on requests when submitted for approval.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as accounting or finance.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
