Summary

This position will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX.

This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Duties

Performs accounting customer support to all customers. Performs full range of accounting duties through the use of the Oracle financial systems. Receives and responds to live phone and e-mail messages using the fully automated capabilities of My FSS (Customer Service Support Ticketing System) to assist customers in classifying and verifying a wide variety of accounting documents in order to ensure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information and to prepare/validate system control sheets with appropriate accounting codes. Assist customers in maintaining double entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers and reconciling accounts, and transcribing to general ledger for closeout of all accounts. Answers customers questions on how to flow individual funds and specific monies from initiation through expenditure stages in order to trace discrepancies in the Oracle financial systems. Trace discrepancies in response to customer queries or other Shared Service Center (SSC) division requests. Assists customers with support in reports prepared to include profit and loss statements, financial statements, and miscellaneous financial reporting data. Performs both accounting and customer support functions independently at the full performance level of accounting duties assigned with occasional support or intervention from the supervisor. Required to assist in training new employees on the My FSS (Customer Service Support Ticketing System). Managing user acceptance testing for release and new projects within an organization, as well as developing test cases in a customer service support ticketing system. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
  1. Basic accounting experience which has provided an understanding of the interrelationship of accounts and the effects of debits and credit transactions on the overall system of general ledgers.
  2. Understanding of the relationship between general ledger and the subsidiary accounts and extensive subdivision of accounts.
  3. Understanding of accounting functions of Oracle financial or similar accounting systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  1. Knowledge of training methods and preparation of training/briefing materials.
  2. Working knowledge with MS Office application software.
  3. Knowledge or the ability to understand NAF accounting practices and procedures.
  4. Skills to provide individual and team training in specific tasks and job techniques.
  5. Ability to prepare correspondence responding to inquires of a routine and non-routine nature explaining various aspects of accounting.
  6. Ability managing user acceptance testing for releases and new projects within an organization, as well as developing test cases in a customer service support ticketing system.

Education
