Summary
This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC). This position serves as an Administrative Assistant.The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative support services to the General Counsel, OGC's management team, and staff.

Duties
As an Administrative Assistant, you will:
- Log, screen, and distribute all communications and correspondence received or sent through general office channels.
- Review and proofread outgoing correspondence and reports for proper format, accuracy, and all coordination of facts in accordance with established policy.
- Assure office purchases, including travel and training expenses, comply with agency standards and documentation requirements.
- Oversee the operating budget including developing and coordinating the budget and tracking and monitoring actual operating performance.
- Performs a wide range of special projects. Assignments may include researching, collecting, and presenting information composed from many different offices, agencies, or organizations where the subject matter is of a sensitive and confidential nature.

Qualifications
To qualify for the CU-09 grade level, you must have one of the following:
A. Specialized Experience:Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.All applicants applying for the CU-09 grade level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-08grade level obtained in the private or public sector. This must include all of the experience below:
- Managing an office's administrative functions;
- Preparing, reviewing, or modifying documents, letters, or memoranda; and
- Utilizing automated systems to prepare presentations or reports.
OR
B. Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (36 semester hours, 54 quarter hours) leading to such a degree related to the duties of the position such as business administration, management, or human resources. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
C. Combination of Education and Experience: Applicants may combine education and experience to qualify at this level.
