GS-7: To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must meet at least
ONE of the following conditions,
as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level.
Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following types of duties:
General administrative support related to acquiring office supplies, monitoring the operating status of equipment, submitting work/service orders for equipment or facilities, purchasing supplies or office equipment, inventory maintenance (supplies/property), property maintenance, internal controls, mail, time and attendance, forms management and communication services, oral and writing communication with customers, or other administrative processes and services.
Education:
Have one of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Financial Management, Public Administration, Business Administration): a Master's or higher degree (such as a Ph.D.); OR 1 year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
Have completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree or possess a bachelor's degree AND I meet one of the provisions of Superior Academic Achievement. Superior Academic Achievement Provisions: 1. Maintained a grade-point average of "B" (a GPA of 3.0 or higher) for all completed undergraduate courses, or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. 2. Maintained a grade-point average "B+" (a GPA of 3.5 or higher) for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. 3. Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision. 4. Be a member of a national honor (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. Please submit a college transcript(s) showing your grade point average for all four years of undergraduate study, including all transferred courses. NOTE: GPA's are rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 rounds to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail or similar basis, your claim must be based on class standing or membership in an honor society.
Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet the total qualifications. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of one full year.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy. To be well-qualified, you must satisfy all qualification requirements for the vacant position and receive a score of 85 or better on established ranking criteria. You must provide proof of eligibility to receive selection priority.
