Duties

  • Provide general information concerning office(s) operations to the public both orally and in writing.
  • Prepare appropriate receipts, records, and tracking forms. Deposit monies in strict accordance with Department of Treasury instructions.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable, aging analysis reports, and suspense and unearned accounts.
  • Ability to use various types of computer programs to maintain and retrieve information from automated applications/data systems.
  • Work in a records system and pertinent BLM manual sections regarding Federal records retention and disposal in order to provide administrative assistance in the completion of records reviews, inventories, and dispositions.
  • Process refunds and track the status of trespass register and contributed funds.

Qualifications

For GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: performing clerical administrative duties; working with the public and providing customer service; maintaining electronic and paper records; skill in computer software programs and experience in data entry.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending or driving a motor vehicle. the incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books and other similar materials.

Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks and discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.

Relocation/Recruitment Incentive: This position is offering a Relocation/Recruitment Incentive, 20% of the annual salary. How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
