For GS-06: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:
- Knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the supported.
- Organization to perform non-routine secretarial and administrative support assignments.
- Coordinate the work of the office with the work of other offices.
For GS-07: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:
- Knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the office.
- Supervisor to perform non-routine secretarial and administrative support assignments.
- Coordinate the work of the office with the work of other offices.
- Skill in advising administrative support personnel in such matters as correspondence, telephone procedures, publications, directives, reports, and public relations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials.
Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
