Duties
At the full performance level (GS-07) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as Property Receiving Officer: prepare disposition forms, record property, maintain property databases and assist with annual property disposal and inventory actions.
- Provide administrative support services such as prepare and monitor personnel actions; prepare, maintain, and ensure accuracy of time and attendance; assist with payroll problems; provide HR assistance and guidance.
- Provides guidance and assistance in all personnel matters including tracking and scheduling of medical clearance/surveillance, health benefits, and retirement information.
- Assists in reviewing, compiling, developing and preparing budget cost estimates and justifications to support the programs and activities of the field office.
- Reviews outgoing correspondence for proper spelling, grammar, format and arrangement of material.
- Procure necessary supplies, equipment, and services; follow procurement rules and regulations.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
Salary Range Information (Per Annum):
*First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
GS-06, Step 01-$45,409- Step 10 $59,031
GS-07, Step 01-$50,460- Step 10, $65,599

Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized. In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated.

To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level:
Specialized Experience Requirement: you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing a wide variety of advanced administrative functions such as coordinating payroll, preparing and entering personnel actions, coordinating travel arrangements, managing a procurement system, and preparing, tracking, and reconciling an organization's budget. You must include hours per week worked.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level:
Specialized Experience Requirement: you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing a wide variety of advanced administrative functions such as advising employees on payroll regulations and serving as payroll coordinator; serving as liaison with Human Resources by preparing and entering personnel actions, and processing employee paperwork; serving as the technical advisor for travel processes and regulations; advising on procurement; and performing budget and financial management by collecting data for a budget, making recommendations, tracking expenditures, creating budgetary reports, and reconciling an organization's budget.You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
