Requirements
Conditions of employment
Applicants must be citizens of the United States of America or be eligible to work in the United States. A background investigation with law enforcement agencies, including fingerprint and criminal records checks will be conducted. In addition, as conditions of employment, incumbent will be subject to updated background investigations every five years or as deemed necessary. Any applicant selected for a position will be hired provisionally pending successful completion of the investigation. This position is subject to mandatory Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for payment of net pay.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements are high school graduate, two years general experience (one academic year equals one-year general experience), and knowledge and experience with Windows, Adobe, and Microsoft Word. Direct experience with law enforcement agency or education in criminal justice is preferred.

The U. S. Probation Office falls within the Judicial Branch of the U. S. Government. Judiciary employees serve under "Excepted Appointment" and are considered "At-Will" employees. Benefits include participation in the Federal Employees' Retirement System which contributes to the Social Security Retirement Program, Federal Employees' Health Benefits, Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance, Thrift Savings Plan (similar to a 401 K plan with employer matching contributions), paid holidays, and annual and sick leave accrual.
