There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Air Conditioning Maintenance Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision.
I have the ability to perform the full range of journeyman level heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work which involves troubleshooting the equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to isolate the problem to the malfunctioning component, or assembly and performing repairs. I am skilled in making modifications, performing test calibrations in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and procedures, repairing HVAC systems and equipment and back flow preventor systems. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
An "EPA Universal certificate " required for this position.

- Physical Effort - Work requires extensive walking, standing, crawling, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing and lifting. Must be able to work from ladders in cramped positions and in small spaces.
- Working Conditions - Incumbent is subjected to conditions affected by heat, rain, snow, humidity, dust and grease, extreme cold, indoors and outdoors, roof tops. Hazards: toxic and/or explosive fumes, cuts and bruises, burns by electric shock, burns from chemically treated water, falls from ladders, bursting steam pipes, scalding water, etc.
