In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which includes the following. Provide control and separation of air traffic also controls the arriving and departing aircraft by means of radar and two-way radio communications. Issue FAA assigned transponder codes for tracking aircraft, issues altitude and direction to be flown as necessary to keep aircraft in designated areas. Assist pilots planning flights and filing flight plans.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09)
