WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E1/PV1 - E6/SSG) or currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E1/PV1-E6-SSG), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
Military Grades: Enlisted Personnel (E1/PV1 - E6/SSG)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use and maintain tools and equipment associated with the handling, storage, examining, transporting, and identifying of ammunition and explosives, as well as the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions including policy and procedures, and experience which demonstrates the knowledge of and the ability to apply safety standards.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 18 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WG-08 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WG grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
- Experience conducting pre-issue inspection of ammunition items prior to issue.
- Experience inspecting ammunition, performs maintenance, care, preservation, shipping and storage operations, assuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, drawings, etc. during operations.
- Experience being responsible for the requirements of all ammunition management documentation.
- Experience assisting in the National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC) resupply and excess management process as required.
