Summary

About the position: This position is located at the All Paws Pet Care, Osan AB (Bldg. 421-B Behind Osan Elementary School)
The Employment Category is Flexible. Work Schedule is Monday-Sunday and Holidays.

Duties

  • Makes and confirms reservations. Ensures no "over-booking".
  • Maintains accountability and security of funds received. Turns in receipts in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintain continuity, safety and civil engineering files.
  • Orders and maintain supplies.
  • Initiates civil engineering work orders.
  • Resolves customer complaints at the lowest level.
  • Maintains close contact with the base veterinarian.
  • Responsible for animal security and safety.
  • Maintains animal boarding files.
  • Receives and responds to inspection reports from base veterinarian.
  • Observes animals periodically throughout shift to check for signs of illness, disease, injury, unusual activity or need for special care.
  • Ensure kennel and training areas are free from foreign objects and stools.
  • Enforces the "OFF LIMIT" policy and ensures security of entire kennel.
  • Notifies supervisor or appropriate personnel in case of escape, sickness or other special needs or requirements of animals.
  • Inspects and performs minor repairs to kennel facility and grounds.
  • Insure bowls and utensils are clean to minimize contamination to animals.
  • Monitors and records animal food consumption and stool movement. Fills out boarded animal report daily.
  • Adheres to customer's special request regarding their pets care.
  • Accommodates the special needs of the customer by opening after normal operating hours.
  • Ensures all animals boarded have received current immunizations

  • Work schedule is flexible and will vary as required by the needs of the program to include night, weekend, and holiday shifts as well as split days off.
  • Physical Effort: Medical Clearance and heavy lifting. Frequently lift and carry items and animals weighing over seventy (70) pounds. Moderate effort is required to operate power washing and mowing equipment.
  • Working Conditions: Works inside in often poorly lighted or insulated areas, and outside exposed to extreme weather conditions. Inside work often exposes animal caretakers to unpleasant odors and noises.
  • Working Conditions: Exposed to dirt, dust, and height. Subject to cuts, bruises, kicks, electric shock, bites, scratches and ticks from animals.
  • Recruitment limited only to the local commuting area of Osan AB.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must possess the basic knowledge of the animals cared for. Prior training in animal care desirable. However, no experience is required. Must be able to determine the sex and maturity of the animals to ensure proper boarding procedures are followed. Must be willing and able to handle care for animals to include feeding, watering, bathing, and cleaning and disinfecting kennel areas and restrooms. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and frequently bend, kneel, crawl, to retrieve animals. Must be able to restrain and lift animals weighing up to 40lbs without assistance and up to 75lbs with assistance. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 investigation as a condition of employment.

Education
