In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must possess the basic knowledge of the animals cared for. Prior training in animal care desirable. However, no experience is required. Must be able to determine the sex and maturity of the animals to ensure proper boarding procedures are followed. Must be willing and able to handle care for animals to include feeding, watering, bathing, and cleaning and disinfecting kennel areas and restrooms. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and frequently bend, kneel, crawl, to retrieve animals. Must be able to restrain and lift animals weighing up to
40lbs without assistance and up to
75lbs with assistance. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 investigation as a condition of employment.
