Minimum Qualifications:
1). Demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology may be substituted for six (6) months of the required work experience.
2). Possesses and maintains the following certifications:
- Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, ELLIS);
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association);
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding Instructor and Water Safety Instructor.
3). The following certification must be obtained within 6 months of appointment:
- Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
4). In addition, the O2 Administration certification (Red Cross certified or installation offered training/i.e Fire Dept.) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty.
All qualifying certifications must be uploaded at time of application.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
1). Familiar with Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
2). Possesses a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
3). Completion of MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course.
