Duties

  • Assist the Business Manager (Food Service) in directing the operation and supervision of food service facility. Recommend and enforce operating procedures.
  • Represent the activity to the public. Conduct surveys, review activity reports, and make recommendations concerning services, promotion activities, and revenue improvements.
  • Assist Business Manager in the selection of employees and in training new employees to work situations, compliance with health and safety standards, and proper use of storage of tools and equipment.
  • Supervise assigned staff. Complete cash reports and makes daily deposits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must obtain (within first six months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired through an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited agency.
  • Must be available to work rotating shifts.
  • Must be available to work day, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attend Team Member Orientation (TMO) within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Must be available for Community Events that Business Operations Division supports. The events include, but not limited to, Oktoberfest, Freedom Fest, Children’s Fest, and Winterfest.
  • This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no guaranteed hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
  • One year Supervisor probation period is required.

Qualifications

1. Work experience directly related to the duties to be performed. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the next lower pay level.
2. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, stressful environment.
3. Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Possess a certificate for sanitation in food service or have the ability to obtain the certificate within three months of employment.

Best Qualified Criteria:
1. Possess 6 months of experience in maintaining financial oversight, daily cash reports, deposits, and adherence to cash handling procedures AND
2. Possess 6 months of experience in managing multiple food service outlets or a high-volume food and beverage operation AND
3. Possess 6 months of experience in training and developing staff members with food safety standards.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
