Duties
- Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.
- Assists in the development of budgetary and manpower requirements and recommends adjustments due to changes in program demands or hours of operation.
- Oversees facility cleanliness contracts and standard operating procedures.
- Assists with the scheduling and outreach of organizational units at the facility to include intramural sports (plans, develops, coordinates, organizes, schedules, publicizes, directs, etc).
- Assist in the publicizing sports facilities, programs and events by drafting articles for local newspapers and as instructed by supervisor coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers and other promotional material.

- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks, in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation as well as State Criminal History Repository checks.
- Must complete the following course(s)/class: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
- Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED.
- This position requires a medical exam.
Qualifications
- Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.
- Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities.
- The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package.
- Possess 2 years experience working for FMWR
- Possess 1 year experience supervising a sports/fitness program
- Experience working in an ice rink
- Experience in fitness equipment procurement and life cycle replacement
- Experience with an annual operating budget,
- Experience scheduling personnel
- Possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and work experience as identified above
- Possession of a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification
