Summary

Come join our team as the Assistant Manager of a food service operation that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday, and serves brunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays. The primary mission is the feed sailors located at the barracks along with eligible civilians and other support personnel.

Duties

This position assists the Chef/Manager in management of all food preparation, service operations, and personnel in the facility. This position supervises full-time, part-time, and flexible employees in the areas of kitchens, dining areas and storage areas.

  • Develop menu items
  • Prioritizing the work in the kitchen
  • Establish methods of food preparation and cooking by subordinates
  • Conducts training for staff
  • Ensures cleanliness of facility

  • Ability to sustain considerable walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the various foods judging by color, consistency, temperature, odor and taste.
  • Be able to plan, establish and time sequence the steps needed to have menu items ready for serving.
  • Experience in decision-making authority and managing employees
  • Must be tactful and diplomatic in day-to-day dealing with employees, patrons, and high-ranking officials

Education

  • Three years of food service management experience

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
