Assistant Nurse Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team in a 24-bed facility offering private patient rooms equipped with remote telemetry. You will cater to a diverse patient range, including adult to geriatric individuals, as well as bariatric and Spinal Cord Injury patients. Our focus is on team collaboration and providing high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and assign work to nursing staff, setting priorities and organizing schedules.
  • Evaluate staff performance and make recommendations for advancement or reassignments.
  • Manage clinical and managerial decision-making processes effectively.
  • Provide advice and instructions on administrative matters to direct reports.
  • Address staff complaints and escalate unresolved issues to higher management.
  • Identify and provide training and development opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Ensure quality patient care and contribute to staff recruitment and retention.
  • Execute specific program functions relevant to the clinical area.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication and collaboration.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 0730 - 1600. This position is not eligible for telework or virtual work.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Leadership or management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and performance improvement skills.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical fitness, visual and auditory acuity, and manual dexterity to provide patient care. You should be capable of occasionally lifting 50 lbs and handling possible exposure to infectious and combative patients.
