This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 3 years.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Applicants will be evaluated on the following:
1) Academic Accomplishment (Ph.D. preferred) in Environmental Engineering with a core specialty in hazardous waste treatment and remediation, food-energy-water nexus, or resource recovery is strongly preferred or a closely related field;
2) Ability to teach courses, plan, develop, evaluate and lead programs in Environmental Engineering;
3) Demonstrated ability to engage in service activities at the Department, Institution, and national levels;
4) Ability to attract and conduct funded research in areas relevant to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and report results in professional meetings, journal publications, department seminars, and relevant courses;
5) Ability to mentor and/or advise cadets and faculty members on teaching, assessment, and scholarly development in United States Military Academy (USMA) in and out of the classroom.
