This is a full-time academic tenure-track position with an initial term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 3 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. Faculty who attain the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor may have the opportunity to non-competitively receive a permanent appointment in the excepted service. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement, dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Applicants will be evaluated on the following:
1) Academic Accomplishment (PhD preferred) in History, War Studies or other Cyber-Related field.
2) Ability to teach accredited curriculums in a United States Military Academy (USMA) History Department War Studies Program as a faculty member and to mentor cadet research along with analysis projects;
3) Demonstrated ability to conduct independent and collaborative, novel cyber-related research and analysis in their discipline;
4) Demonstrated potential to work as a team on inter-disciplinary research along with conducting research, analysis and development to generate innovative capabilities;
5) Experience and ability to create cyber and war studies related courses curriculum within your discipline for inclusion in existing courses or in the creation of a new course;
6) Ability to create collaborative relationships and foster communication with individuals in academic, governmental, non-profit organizations, and private industry.
