- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Automotive Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform routine Automotive Mechanic tasks such as perform organizational and field maintenance and repairs to gasoline and diesel vehicles such as trucks, sedans, and jeeps. Clean, install, or replace defective parts of components and systems such as spark plugs, wheel cylinders, mufflers, brake shoes, fuel pumps, fuel lines, filters, etc. and install new assemblies such as clutches, differentials, front and rear axles. Balance tires and wheels using centrifugal wheel balancing machine and lubricate vehicles according to specifications. Road test a variety of vehicles, operate a wide variety of motor vehicles up to one-half ton pickup to deliver, and move supplies and materials. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- PHYSICAL EFFORT: May be required to stand, stoop, crouch, or reach overhead for extended periods of time. Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries objects of varying weights, sizes, and shapes. May be required to lift objects that weigh up to 40-50 pounds, and occasionally heavier weight.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is normally performed inside building on concrete floor where it may be wet, drafty, and noisy. Exposed to dirt, grease, solvents, dust, and fumes. Subject to minor cuts, burns, bruises, electrical shocks, mashed fingers, and strains. Wears hearing protection when performing noise hazardous operations. Wears other protective equipment as called for by work being performed.
