In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade or band is required. It is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next to lower pay band or GS equivalent in the Federal Service which includes one or more of the following areas:
- Maintaining knowledge of policies and regulations governing the usage of commercial-based technologies and RPVs (air, land, and/or sea) for training and operational support.
- Leading and overseeing efforts to certify aircrew and unmanned/uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) operators to an aircrew training program standard in accordance with regulatory requirements, performing regular and routine inspections of the aircrew training program processes and standards.
- Compiling, reviewing, and/or inspecting reports, checks and logs on the suitability, functionality, and general practicability of the UAS aircraft and components or systems.
- Maintaining knowledge of the mission objectives and flight profiles for counter-UAS test and experimentation efforts, global counter-UAS warfighter exercises, and worldwide counter-UAS vulnerability assessments to inform counter-UAS technology functionality and effectiveness, warfighter familiarity, and mission assurance.
