Duties
Regular & Recurring Duties and Responsibilities:
Carries supplies and equipment, such as liquors, fruits, ice, glasses, linens and silverware from storage areas to the bar. Slices and peels fruit. Fills ice bins and crushes ice. Washes and cleans bar glasses, bar equipment and keeps the work area clean and neat. Replaces empty beer kegs with full kegs with the aid of a dolly; stocks beer coolers. Wipes down the interior and exterior surfaces of coolers. Helps in setting up service bars and portable bars. Carries debris to waste containers. May serve bottle beer, soft drinks and draw beer from kegs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EVALUATING FACTORS:
Skill and Knowledge: Ability to visually recognize shortages of supplies at the bar such as beverages, beer, condiments, garnishes, glasses, napkins, and utensils, and to replace them as needed. Skill required to use knives and automatic slicers in preparation of garnishes such as oranges, limes, and lemons.
Responsibility: Receive specific instructions concerning completion of their assignments and they make simple decisions such as the type and amount of bar supplies needed from the storage room. On assignments of an unusual nature, the supervisor frequently checks their work, whereas repetitive assignments are completed with minimal supervision.
Physical Effort: Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to and over 40 pounds. Heavier objects such as beer kegs are usually transported with the aid of a dolly.
Working Conditions: Works in inside areas that are adequately heated and lighted. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises and chapped hands.
Waits on customers promptly and with courtesy. Performs cash handling procedures within Air Force and Club instructions. Within a reasonable time, becomes familiar with the facility operation and required stock/merchandise levels. Must adhere to all fire, safety and security instructions. Must demonstrate dependability and work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to carry out verbal and/or written instructions in an acceptable manner. Makes efficient use of materials and equipment, taking care of facilities, supplies, and equipment. Adheres to sanitation and housekeeping requirements. Maintains acceptable standards of dress and appearance, personal hygiene, and conduct. Must be able to work in courteous and harmonious manner with coworkers and supervisors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
No previous training or experience is required.
Qualifying Knowledge, Skills, &Abilities (KSAs): Ability to follow simple oral instructions and be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes. Ability to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds.
Condition(s) of Employment: Satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution.
