This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Boilermaking Worker without more than normal supervision performing duties such as: 1) Assisting journeyman boilermakers with repair of boiler tubes, boiler refractories and burner throats; 2) Performing repairs and preventive maintenance on steam plant boilers and related machinery, equipment and systems; 3) Cleaning firesides and watersides of watertube and firetube boilers, installing handhole plates and tightening or adjusting them as necessary to pass a hydrostatic test, and repairing boiler pressure parts; 4) Work as a confined space safety attendant; 5) Using tools and equipment such as die angle and disk grinders, belling tool, hydrostatic test equipment, tube expander, hand drills, tube cutter, air motor, tube collapsing tool, air lance, tube puller, impact wrench, tube crimper, rotary hammer, and tube end facing tool.
