Duties
Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of Bowling Center which includes equipment maintenance and repair, facilities, and personnel. May include snack bar and/or pro shop operation. Implements higher level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of recreational and promotional efforts.
Promotes, schedules, and manages the conduct of tournaments, matches, and other special events and programs, and necessary resources for the purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. May oversee the operation of the pro shop and direct the conduct of bowling lessons. Carries out necessary liaison with other staff officials that support Center activities, Bowling League participation, market products and events, purchase of bowling equipment and accessories, etc. May custom measure, fit, and drill bowling balls if necessary. Responsible for acting on internal and patron problems with minimal adverse impact on functional programs.
Plans, organizes work and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plans, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews the financial status of the assigned activity and recommends changes considered necessary. Either directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors, manages activity employees. Trains, schedules work, appraises performance, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions.
Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire safety, security, and other environmental issues. Manages new property resources and provides advice on renovations and improvements. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud waste and abuse. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action.
Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly. Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office. Ensures safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions, and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with ''Return To Work'' program initiatives, and following up on employee wellbeing.
This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
