THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF A BREAKER-SWITCHER, WG-5736-07, WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION such as:
- Experience performing braking and switching duties, (i.e. receiving and relaying hand signals for train movements; coupling and uncoupling railcars; throwing switching to shunt railcars and/or locomotives; setting brakes, placing blocks against wheels, etc.)
- Experience maintaining constant check for variety of common track and train operating conditions which cause train breakdown, derailment, damage to cargo, operating failure which could lead to other accidents.
- Experience informing the Conductor and Locomotive Engineer through signals or other means to resolve track obstructions, track defects, train derailment, malfunctioning or defective equipment.

- Experience maintaining constant required watch over an assigned area and equipment.
- Experience notifying senior personnel of problems, potential problems (i.e. use of radio communication).
- Experience receiving general directions from senior personnel.
