Duties
Assists the Lodging Facility Manager in the overall operation, supervision, and administration of the Marine Lodge facility at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, California and assumes all duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Lodging Facility Manager. Assists with the preparation of the annual operational budget, activity reports and other required documents. Maintains accurate records and files.
Directly manages and oversees Front Desk/Guest Services and Housekeeping operations for the facility. Supports the reservations process and revenue management efforts to maximize occupancy and mission support. Performs room inspections and prepare deficiency reports. Receives and resolves guest complaints and service requests, ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up. Engages guests in a friendly, professional, and hospitable manner, actively seeking opportunities to exceed guest expectations and delivers world-class customer service. Ensures compliance with security, safety, housekeeping, fire, sanitation, and environmental regulations. Maintains and enforces safeguards for funds, supplies and equipment to minimize fraud, waste, and abuse.
Registers guests and assigns rooms. Acts as central liaison between registered guests and lodging personnel. Issues room keys and escorts guests to rooms when necessary. Transmits and receives messages using equipment such as telephone and e-mail. Calculates and posts charges to guest accounts and balances totals with control records. Completes housekeeping reports, records of room's occupied and guest accounts. Presents statements of departure and receives payment for rooms and associated charges. Makes, confirms and cancels room reservations on a state-of-the-art computerized reservation system. Troubleshoots minor computer problems, errors and system discrepancies. Inputs data, verifies and updates reservation information. Analyzes forms, vouchers and reports containing reservation information. Checks out and/or sells convenience items and associated lodging equipment such as cribs, linen, equipment. Maintains change funds. Reports problem lodging conditions and assigns housekeepers to maintain rooms in ready condition. Provides general information on the facility, its resources and associated events. Provides guests with information regarding on-site amenities, local activities, and nearby tourist attractions. Perform audits and routine reports of daily activities of the lodging facility. Reports emergencies to appropriate personnel. Offers alternatives when normal work processes and procedures are not accommodating. Follows proper protocol in dealing with personnel of all ranks.
Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists internal customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges internal customers, smiles, and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify, and solve problems. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a white-collar position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.

Qualifications
Must have three years of experience in hotel and/or lodging business administration with knowledge of business practices and market conditions relevant to lodging operations. Supervisory experience in hotel or lodging operations is desired. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures is preferred. Ability to operate standard office equipment including personal computers. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must demonstrate professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and excellent customer service skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisors, and stakeholders is required.
