Duties

  • Assigns work to subordinate staff in setting up of attractive, creative, and imaginative buffet tables and ensures duties are completed as required within budget parameters for event.
  • Manages, schedules and executes work to accomplish banquet events. Creates room diagrams for planned events. Coordinates with kitchen relating to presentation, timing and general review of planned banquet events.
  • Performs client contact during functions, monitors satisfaction, last minute changes and special requests; reports all pertinent information to the supervisor and recommends operational improvements as necessary for future events.
  • Safeguards stock and equipment to prevent loss. Performs a variety of administrative duties such as reports for briefings, internal controls and inventories.
  • Performs the full range of supervisory functions to include hiring, training, performance evaluation, recommends reward and recognition, discipline, work and leave schedules.
  • Orders equipment and supplies. Oversight of catering fleet of vehicles. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. One year of work experience directly related to Banquets, Special Events, Administrative duties and Customer Service.
  2. Supervisory experience is required.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  4. Must have a valid state driver's license.

HIGHLY PREFERRED are applicants who possess the minimum qualifications above AND:
  • Possess a 2-year degree.
  • Food & Beverage work experience of at least 2 years.
  • Experience directly related to budgeting, financial statements, and pricing formulation.

PCS Costs:
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not paid, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials:
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and bonuses:
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances and Differentials (on OCONUS Template, will read as "Foreign Overseas Allowances and Differentials):
  • Overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
