Summary

About the position: This position is located at the Galaxy Club, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom.

  • The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks to support a bar/ beer serving activity.
  • Scheduled shifts may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical, position frequently lifts, pulls and pushes objects weighing up to 40 and over pounds.

Duties

  • Carries supplies and equipment, such as liquors, fruits, ice, glasses, linens and silverware from storage areas to the bar. Slices and peels fruit. Fills ice bins and crushes ice. Washes and cleans bar glasses, bar equipment and keeps the work area clean and neat.
  • Replaces empty beer kegs with full kegs with the aid of a dolly; stocks beer coolers.
  • Wipes down the interior and exterior surfaces of coolers.
  • Helps in setting up service bars and portable bars. Carries debris to waste containers.
  • May serve bottle beer, soft drinks and draw beer from kegs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
  • No previous training or experience is required.
  • Must be able to follow simple oral instructions and be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes.
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
