GS-08: (1) One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-07 grade level.
Specialized experience is defined as: Carrying out biological support projects of relatively limited scope, such as taking readings and recording and analyzing data for inconsistencies, and/or performing inspections; compiling, consolidating, and analyzing biological data; scheduling, organizing, and conducting field and laboratory projects for detecting, identifying, and evaluating various biological science and natural resource data.
Successful completion of 1 year of graduate level education (18 semester/27 quarter hours) that include courses that include biological sciences, wildlife biology, ecology and forestry. No more than 3 semester hours in mathematics is creditable. -OR
A combination of education and experience listed above.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
