Duties

  • Determines which mechanical assemblies are malfunctioning, what parts and mechanisms can be reworked or should be replaced with new parts, and the type of adjustments and alignments required.
  • Selects tools and equipment needed to make necessary adjustment, and completes assignments with little or no direction. Initiates requests for spare parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains, adjusts, and repairs a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, components and assemblies.
  • Typical equipment services includes automatic pin placing machines, automatic scorers, ball returns, telescore and telefoul units, ball drilling machines, pin finders, lane maintenance machines, supervisor for timeliness.
  • Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, but referring to manufacturer's diagrams and specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams using test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and feeler gages.

Qualifications

  • Must be skilled in use of standard electrical test equipment, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters continuity testers, and test lamps.
  • Skilled in performing such repairs as soldering loose connections, burnishing contact points, splicing, insulating exposed wires, replacing defective printed circuit boards.
  • Applies a fundamental knowledge of electrical principles and the operating characteristics of electrical and electronic components.
  • Determines which mechanical assemblies are malfunctioning, what parts and mechanisms can be reworked or should be replaced with new parts, and the type of adjustments and alignments required.
  • Selects tools and equipment needed to make necessary adjustment, and completes assignments with little or no direction. Initiates requests for spare parts, supplies and equipment.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
