The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson SFB, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for an Budget Analyst to support the 21 CS (NH-0560-02, GS 05/11 equivalent).

We are seeking a highly analytical, proactive, and detail-oriented Budget Analyst to serve as the financial backbone of our organization. In this mission-critical role, you will navigate the full federal budget cycle, leading efforts in budget formulation, execution, and reconciliation. You will monitor funds, perform variance analysis to proactively address shortfalls or surpluses, and ensure strict compliance with fiscal law (Purpose, Time, and Amount) and the Anti-Deficiency Act. Leveraging tools like PowerBI, ADVANA, or other federal financial systems (e.g., DEAMS, GFEBS, DAI), you will analyze complex data to make strategic, data-driven recommendations that protect program financial health even in shifting environments or during unexpected mid-year funding changes.
Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for a collaborative partner and clear communicator who thrives under tight deadlines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and program managers, translating complex financial jargon into simple, actionable concepts and delivering professional guidance with diplomacy and tact. Ideal Candidate:
Individual must obtain and maintain Financial Management Level 1 Certification. Must be able to maintain a Secret Clearance. Must have an understanding of federal financial terminology. Must have experience with the following financial systems: (GFEBS, DEAMS, DAI, PRISM, PowerBi, PIEE (US Bank / WAWF), ADVANA, FM SUITE, Status of Funds (SOF), DTS)

- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- PCS / Incentive funding is not authorized.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
