Duties

  • Provides advice, assistance, and monitors all phases of budget operations and finalizes corrective actions necessary to the branch chief for final decision.
  • Keeps branch chief informed of overall budget condition and ability of operating elements to meet program objectives.
  • Applies specific and standardized budgetary principles, regulations, and procedures associated with budget formulation and execution.
  • Provides expert fund management and control for assigned programs.
  • Analyzes budgetary and manpower relationships and financial and workload indicators in accordance with standards and guidelines by applicable DCAA and OSD regulations and policies.

Qualifications

You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-prof.asp.

Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume.

Specialized experience is defined as experience in managing operating budgets for resource allocations to include Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Defense Acquisition Workforce Development Fund (DAWDF) in accordance with DoD policy.


Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

For a critical sensitive position, you must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret level. For a special sensitive position, you must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level AND you will be subject to a random counterintelligence scope polygraph.

Drug Testing: If you are given access to classified information, you will be subject to random drug testing. If you are selected for a special sensitive position, you will be placed in a drug testing designated position. You must pass a drug test before your assignment to such a position and you will be subject to random drug testing subsequent to your assignment.
