This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to do the work of a CARPENTER without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by the following: 1) Constructing and repairing wood and wood substitute structures and items requiring close fit and structural soundness such as building frames, rafters, concrete forms, walls, staircases, door and window frames, and interior and exterior trim; 2) Interpreting drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the layout and work sequences and types of lumber or special related materials needed; and 3) Operating power and hand tools and other woodworking equipment such as portable drills, clippers, joiners, shavers, tenoners, sanders, routers, combustion type saws, drill presses and table saws.
