Summary

This position is located in the Club Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan. The incumbent performs a wide variety of work assignments during various shifts in support of the club operations.

Duties

  • Verifies all the transaction on Daily Activity report to include all cash that is turned in and the total of all credit card transactions match the amount of the charged /commercial credit card sales that are on the DAR
  • Verifies all Cashiers assigned petty cash fund according to the amount designated on the sub custodian letter. All petty cash funds are verified before the cashier shift starts and after the cashiers shift end.
  • Cashes out all waiters/waitress dining room checks, for all patrons dining in the Kosano Dining Room.
  • Receives the slot machine number and customer information to enter in the Army computer system. Verifies all required paperwork is accurate, prior to payout.
  • Assures that all patrons furnish proper identification when situation warrants such action.
  • Accountable for all slot machines malfunction payouts. Completes appropriate paper work and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintains necessary records and prepares required reports for each shift.
  • Responsible for entering all takeout orders in the point of sales system to include taking payment for each transaction.
  • Maintains the work area in a presentable condition.
  • Trains new employees and ensure smooth flow of operations
  • Assists Supervisor on daily basis
  • Incumbent must present a neat, well-groomed, professional appearance at all times and must work harmoniously with co-workers and members of the MWR Department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Conditions of employment

  • Satisfactorily complete all background checks to include National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI).
  • Incumbent must be able to work varied work schedules to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The work may require some physical effort, such as prolonged standing, walking, bending, or sitting.
  • There is a danger of slipping on a floor where food or beverages have been spilled.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. (MUST submit proof at the time of application)
  • One (1) year general experience involving responsible cash processing procedures and policies of MWR
  • Ability to provide leadership to staff members
  • Must be able to handle money accurately.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and personal computer. Incumbent must have basic accounting knowledge.
  • Must possess good customer service skills.

This position does not have an educational requirement.

  • Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable). Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
  • Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer is required.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

  • Experience with collecting/issuing money bags and cash funds.
  • Experience with receiving, counting and verifying money.

  • Experience providing leadership and training to employees
