The U.S. Space Force is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as the Chief of the Director's Action Group, a pivotal role that will shape the future of space defense and influence strategic decisions at the highest levels. As the Chief of the Director's Action Group, you will be at the forefront of leading and managing critical initiatives that drive the success of the U.S. Space Force's mission. You'll lead a talented team of experts, overseeing complex programs and high-stakes projects that support space superiority, innovation, and operational excellence. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, both within the Space Force and across the Department of Defense, ensuring that we remain agile, responsive, and capable of meeting today's challenges while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow. In direct support of 4-star and SES leadership, you will oversee the planning, direction and execution of the Director's Action Group to set priorities, long-range goals and drive organizational excellence. As the linchpin of coordination across multiple departments, you'll ensure smooth operations across the organization. You will work across a broad spectrum of stakeholders, from senior government officials and military leaders to industry and allies. A strong background in strategic management, policy development and operational execution is a must in this high impact role where your expertise will directly contribute to national defense. Leadership and supervisory experience leading complex teams, command or senior civilian leadership experience managing organizational development. Expertise in strategic planning and agile leadership to respond to evolving leadership guidance. Strong communication skills, experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and experience in crafting policies that support organizational goals. Operational and administrative expertise, skilled at preparing senior leaders for key decisions; advisory and problem-solving experience; adept at ensuring adherence to policies. Ideal applicants will have defense-related priorities and demonstrated success managing day-to-day operations supporting senior leadership with administrative coordination and decision support.
KNOWLEDGE:
1. In-depth understanding of strategic planning processes, including the ability to align organizational goals with strategic initiatives.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of organizational structure, functions, and interrelationships within a command environment.
3. Familiarity with military protocols, customs, and courtesies, as well as knowledge of military chain of command and operations.
4. Knowledge of legislative processes and the ability to coordinate with legislative bodies and respond to congressional inquiries.
5. Understanding of project management principles, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.
