You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Interpreting plans and specifications to ensure that contractor's work is performed in accordance with accepted construction practices or good workmanship; (2) communicating with contractor representatives for mutual understanding and agreement; (3) ensuring strict adherence to all applicable safety provisions to the contract; and (4) Managing construction project at all stages to resolve problems encountered during field visits. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Evaluating construction methods for potential issues; 2) Preparing cost estimates of projects to compare against contractor proposals ; 3) Negotiating revisions to contractual agreements; and 4) Inspecting or reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes or other regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
