A Highly Preferred candidate will have the following experience:
- Extensive experience in School Age/ Youth Program Child and Youth Services.
- Three years of progressive leadership in School Age/Youth Program setting.
- Experience utilizing CYMS or similar management systems.
- Proficiency in managing data, tracking program compliance, utilizing reports to inform staffing as well as enrollment and planning.
Successful completion of a 4-year college or university degree with a major course of study or substantial course work which directly relates to a CYS field: early childhood, elementary, secondary, special education, child and youth development, psychology, youth program administration or a closely related field.
Or
A combination of education and experience. Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in education or a field appropriate to education, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described.
In addition to the requirements mentioned above candidates must possess the following:
1. Demonstrated twelve (12) months work experience in at least two (2) CYS program types (FCC, SAS, etc.) that included management of a child or youth program. The work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
2. Knowledge of management analysis, personnel development, and APF and NAF funding and oversight relationship to CYS programs.
3. Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
4. Comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writingskills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences.
