The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Launch Delta 30 (SLD 30) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California is searching for a Chief of Information Protection (NH-0080-04, GS 14/15 equivalent).
Description:
Space Launch Delta 30 is seeking a new Chief of Information Protection! The Chief of IP will be on the leading edge of protecting the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information considered vital to mission interests, national defense, and national security.
Our IP lead will lead, direct, administer, manage, plan, organize, and oversee SLD 30's Information Protection program activities and associated functions on behalf of the Delta Commander. They will supervise a team of professionals and will formulate program goals, plans, policies, and procedures and integrate innovative security initiatives in the development and operation of Delta-wide information protection functions and activities. They will serve as the Senior Security advisor to the Delta Commander for all Information Protection security program matters and will represent the organization with associated Mission Partners and organizations. Importantly, they will be expected to establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with all base-assigned organizations. In sum, they will serve as the risk assessment/risk management advisor to the Commander for the converged IP disciplines throughout the Western Range.
The ideal candidate will have mastery knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, analytical theories, and practices. Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies, applying in-depth expertise in highly complex and ambiguous situations. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions of a small staff that serves a large organization. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful mission accomplishment. Ability to lead and motivate employees. Strong writing and oral communication skills to inform and persuade. Ability to think strategically.
