Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as the Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. This full-time permanent role requires a leader who can oversee and coordinate clinical services while ensuring excellence in both clinical and administrative functions. You will work closely with the Laboratory Manager, Administrative Officer, and supervisory technologists to provide seamless clinical service.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the CLIA Laboratory Director at the VA medical facility.
- Oversee laboratory testing, maintain compliance with federal regulations, and ensure the quality of patient services.
- Provide consultation on pathology and laboratory findings to VA healthcare providers.
- Direct and coordinate patient care, administration, education, and research functions within the service.
- Manage personnel, medical practice standards, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accreditation and quality standards for laboratory services are met.
- Participate on medical staff committees and multidisciplinary conferences.
- Coordinate with community care providers when necessary to ensure standards of care.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm with a rotational on-call schedule.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
- Board Certification in Pathology.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
- Completion of relevant residency training and eligibility for board certification.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Outstanding professional ability in the practice of medicine.
- Ability to develop and implement medical programs, personnel management, and quality improvement.
