Position Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA). You will play an integral role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children and youth in one or more of our programs.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure accountability and safety of children and youth.
Prepare and facilitate age-appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors.
Arrange and serve meals and snacks.
Coordinate activities across different age groups from 6 weeks to 18 years.
Maintain and inventory equipment and supplies.
Possibly transport children in government vehicles with a valid driver's license.
Levels of Engagement
Leader Level
Oversee program operations, plan and conduct activities, and ensure compliance with standards.
Target Level
Conduct and coordinate programs, welcomed by children and youth, and manage special requirements.
Intermediate Level
Assist in planning programs ensuring age appropriateness and positive interaction.
Entry Level
Engage in routine tasks under supervision and assist in pre-planned activities.
Candidate Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
Completion of pre-employment checks and background investigations.
Willingness to undergo drug testing as part of employment terms.
Once hired, completion of Food Handlers certification and required training within specified timelines.
Compensation
Pay is commensurate with education and experience, ranging from $18.51 for Entry Level to $24.29 for Leader Level.
