Duties

  • Civil engineer specialist in pavement and site design on the staff of a design organization responsible for planning
  • Attends conferences with division and regional representatives and various design agencies of the Air Force, Army and National Guard;
  • Coordinates and consults with other planning and design activities in connection with scope and design of paving and site projects and in obtaining necessary and current design criteria.
  • Assignments involve performance of office and field design duties associated with in house design and architectural/engineering review on project sites with diverse climatic,
  • Applies the latest design and construction techniques to all type project sites
  • Full range of duties concerned with the planning, design, contract document preparation using state of the art software systems (CADD, AutoCaDD C3D, PondPack), renovation

Qualifications


In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. In addition to education, you must have specialized experience

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level which includes experience with: 1) Maintaining effective working relationship with both internal and external customers to ensure successful project completion; 2) Reviewing and evaluating the work of team members and engineers project work; and 3) Ensuring that project reports, documents, contract plans, and specifications are following policies, regulations, or guidance.

  • Professional Engineer: The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess and maintain license/registration as a Professional Engineer. This license/registration must be in good standing and issued by any one of the 50 states or its territories.
  • Hiring incentives such as a recruitment/relocation bonus, service credit for leave, and student loan repayment may be authorized (subject to available budget). Before the payment of a Relocation Incentive, an employee must provide residence documentation and maintain a residence in the new geographic location for the duration of the service agreement.
  • PCS expenses may be authorized (subject to available budget) if the selecting official determines the relocation is in the best interests of the government.
  • This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or its possessions to operate vehicles.
